40 to 60 years old, open ethnicity man. Stoic and loyal, David and Nigel are Derek’s employees at the Chinese restaurant who tend to the shop as Nate and The Man meet each night. Despite their unassuming appearances, David and Nigel can hold their own in a gunfight and will defend the shop at all costs…SUPPORTING (23)

Storyline: The first of The Underneath series, In Fortune’s Shadow could best be described as “John Wick meets The Matrix” or “It’s a Wonderful Life with Guns.” A legendary Keyser Soze-type underworld figure known as The Man with the Answers is an ex-Knight of the Round Table, now wandering in today’s underworld. The legend says that if you can find The Man and eat with him in a Chinese restaurant, the fortune cookie that comes at the end of the meal contains the meaning of your life. Nate, a fellow knight bound by a stringent code of honor, is given just three days to find the Man and get the meaning, or face the ultimate consequence. Along the way, Nate finds that both The Man and the Meaning he is looking for are much more than they initially seem.
